Blackbird Installation Checkseets

To ensure every customer has an amazing experience with their Beatbox Blackbird, RoamRig requires installers to complete a checksheet and submit a few key photos after each installation. This documentation is mandatory for warranty coverage and support from RoamRig.

The checksheet is included in the box with every Beatbox Blackbird. If it’s been misplaced, you can download a copy here.

Why This Matters

Most in-field issues we’ve seen with the Beatbox are caused by damage to the amp or harness due to improperly secured wiring. We have seen wires loose under the subwoofer which cause rattles. We have seen door speakers installed without trimming the tab off the door panel first.

Our documentation requirements aren’t just busywork—they help prevent issues caused by making preventable installation errors, ensuring that customers have great experiences with the product, and decreasing warranty claims.

Required Photos

To avoid reopening anything post-install, photo prompts are noted at the appropriate steps in the installation guide . Please include:

  1. Wires zip tied to amp bracket
This confirms proper strain relief. The bracket, loops, and zip tie positioning are all designed to protect the amp and harness from tension and vibration. We need to see a photo like this, with adequate zip ties, wires routed in a similar manner, and service loops between connections at the amplifier and the zip ties.

If it doesn’t look approximately like this, we will not be able to warranty the Beatbox.

  2. Wires secured under the passenger seat base
This ensures correct routing and that the wires are tied down to prevent rattling or contact with the subwoofer. Note the included zip tie mounts and zip ties have been used to secure Mercedes wiring to the back of the seat base. ANY wires which are loose behind/below the subwoofer must be secured to prevent rattles.

  3. Wires exiting the seat base
To verify clean and secure routing outside the seat base. Note that excess service loops in the harness are not under the subwoofer, but have been gently pulled into the wiring track between the seats and secured neatly.

Where to Send

After installation, please email the completed checksheet and required photos to info@roamrig.com. If the Beatbox was sold for a DIY install, include the serial number (found on the outside of the box) and the buyer’s contact info.

We all benefit from tying up any loose ends, and this checksheet is here to guide technicians to installation success. Thank you for working with us to make sure your customer has a great experience.
