This update is only necessary if advised by RoamRig support. ![Beatbox-Resistor](https://customers.roamrig.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Beatbox-Resistor.jpg?width=670&height=503&name=Beatbox-Resistor.jpg) | #### **Difficulty** Easy | #### **Time Needed** 45 minutes | | --- | --- | | #### **Required Tools** - E12 External Torx Socket - Socket Wrench 3/8" Drive | - Wire Cutters - 3/8" Drive Extension - 3" - Torque Wrench 3/8" Drive | --- ### **Step 1:** VS30 Battery and Power Disconnect 1. Locate and remove fuse #32. ![](https://customers.roamrig.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Rich%20Text%20Pasting/google-1746809417962.jpeg?width=592&height=444&name=google-1746809417962.jpeg) --- ### **Step 2:** Seat Removal 1. Disconnect the yellow plug for the seat wire harness by depressing the tabs on each side, and pulling connector out. Remove seat wire harness from seat rails by unclipping securement clips along the seat rails. ***If equipped with power seats, you will need to adjust the seats to allow them to swivel PRIOR to disconnecting the battery.*** ![](https://customers.roamrig.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Rich%20Text%20Pasting/google-1746809446953-1.jpeg?width=592&height=444&name=google-1746809446953-1.jpeg) ![](https://customers.roamrig.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Rich%20Text%20Pasting/google-1746809446953.jpeg?width=592&height=444&name=google-1746809446953.jpeg) 3. If your van does not have power seats, skip to Step 6. 4. Route seat wire harness and the power seat harness (if equipped) through the opening in the seat swivel. ![](https://customers.roamrig.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Rich%20Text%20Pasting/google-1746809484164.jpeg?width=575&height=432&name=google-1746809484164.jpeg) 7. Using the E12 Torx socket and socket wrench, begin removing the 4 seat bolts that secure the seat to the seat base. It will be necessary to rotate the seat to access all the seat bolts. ![](https://customers.roamrig.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Rich%20Text%20Pasting/google-1746809490829.jpeg?width=592&height=444&name=google-1746809490829.jpeg) 8. After the 4 seat bolts have been removed, the seat can be lifted out of the vehicle. Adjust the seat back to the upright most position to make the seat easier to remove from the van. Take care to not scratch the door panel or the B pillar on the van when removing the seat. Masking tape can be used on the seat base to help prevent damage. --- ### **Step 3: Accessing Beatbox** 1. We will need to access the front of the Beatbox to install the resistor pack. ***If you have a fire extinguisher or any other accessory secured to the back of the seat base via screws, you may need to remove the screws if they are long and protrude into the sub box!*** 2. Lift up and support the front of the Beatbox, and support the front using a suitable chock. We are using a small piece of wood in the image placed against the seat base and under the front lip of the Beatbox. *Take care when lifting the front of the Beatbox, as we do not want to damage the Beatbox.* ![](https://customers.roamrig.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Rich%20Text%20Pasting/google-1746809520861.jpeg?width=592&height=444&name=google-1746809520861.jpeg) 3. You can also remove the Beatbox from the vehicle and set it on a table or bench. You would need to disconnect the power wires from the amplifier, and disconnect all the harness' as well to remove. --- ### **Step 4:** Resistor Pack Install 1. This is shown on a work bench for clarity purposes. The Beatbox shown in the images is a prototype, so some wire routing MAY be slightly different on your unit, but the procedure is exactly the same. 2. Located the 6 pin connector below the NGM and next to the crossovers. The wire colors are Purple, Green, Orange, and White. The connector may be positioned behind the relay module (the long skinny module secured below the NGM). ![](https://customers.roamrig.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Rich%20Text%20Pasting/google-1746809622092.jpeg?width=592&height=444&name=google-1746809622092.jpeg) 3. Depress the locking tab and pull this connector apart. ![](https://customers.roamrig.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Rich%20Text%20Pasting/google-1746809633424.jpeg?width=592&height=444&name=google-1746809633424.jpeg) 4. The resistor pack has a 6 pin connector on each end, a male and female end. 5. Plug each side of the resistor pack into the corresponding (male or female) connector on the harness we just disconnected on the Beatbox. Use the provided zip ties to secure the resistor pack to the existing harness as shown. Avoid placing the zip ties directly over the body of the resistor pack. If the zip ties are over-tightened you can damage the resistor board. With all the wiring secured and connected, remove the prop and lower the Beatbox into position in the seat base. **Ensure the seat wiring harness is not being crimped or crushed by the box. ![](https://customers.roamrig.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Rich%20Text%20Pasting/google-1746809654407.jpeg?width=575&height=432&name=google-1746809654407.jpeg)** --- ### **Step 5:** Reinstall Seats 1. Lift the seat into the van, and place it on the seat base. Take care not to scratch the seat base when placing the seat into the van. Masking tape can be used on the seat base to help avoid damage. 2. Feed the seat wiring harness through the center hole up through the seat swivel. ![](https://customers.roamrig.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Rich%20Text%20Pasting/google-1746809672088.jpeg?width=592&height=444&name=google-1746809672088.jpeg) 5. Lower the seat back onto the base, and start the rear 2 seat bolts by hand. **Start the seat bolts by hand to avoid cross threading the bolt into the nut on the seat base.** Seat will need to be swiveled to access all the seat bolts. 6. If your van does not have power seats, skip to Step 10. 8. Insert the plug into the module. As the plug is inserted, the locking lever will start to close. Secure the excess wire to the seat rail using a zip tie and trim zip tie tail. ***Ensure there is enough slack in the wire harness to allow the seat to slide forward and backwards, as well as rotate.*** ![](https://customers.roamrig.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Rich%20Text%20Pasting/google-1746809707461.jpeg?width=592&height=444&name=google-1746809707461.jpeg) --- ### **Step 6: Reconnect Power** 1. Place the battery disconnect terminal back onto the ground stud. Push the battery disconnect terminal onto the stud until it clicks.
